T-mobile announced a new plan for subscribers yesterday called “Jump”, and it is making waves already in the smartphone world. The basics of the plan is that for $10 extra a month, you have the option to get a new phone twice a year, so you aren’t stuck with legacy hardware for up to two years like with some other carriers. The new phones aren’t free, you will still pay the price of contract phones, but it’s a great deal cheaper than buying them off contract.
In my opinion switching phones twice a year is too much, even for someone who is obsessed with having the newest coolest phone. Maybe for $6 a month and switch once a year would land more of a casual audience, just a thought.
